Founded in 1928 and located in the beautiful region of Gippsland in Victoria, the Rotary Club of Sale is made up of local women and men of all ages who share one thing - a passion for serving the community. Dedicated to humanitarian causes at a local, national and international level, our club is active and growing. Look around Sale and you will see the many projects and causes that our club has been recently supporting, such as the SEED Community Garden, Sale Cemetary Children's Memorial Garden, Sale Wetlands and ‘Sale says NO to domestic and family violence’. We also raise funds for a variety of international causes such as the fight to End Polio, clean water for Timor Leste and Interplast. Last week RC Sale launched the next stage or our Say NO Project. With the help of Federal Minister for Gippsland Darren Chester and Member for Gippsland South (and Rotarian) Danny O'Brien, the Coffee for a Cause was launched featuring our logo on coffee cups.

CLUB MEETINGS
Dine with Us:
Our club meets every Tuesday Night (except the last Tuesday of the month) at 6 pm upstairs at the Sale Greyhounds Club Sale/Maffra Road, Sale. We enjoy a meal, listen to inspiring speakers, enjoy updates about club activities and share fun and fellowship in a relaxed and enjoyable way. We also have regular social events.
Visiting Rotarians and prospective new members are welcome to join us. Please email or call us before Monday night so we can let the venue know you will be attending.
Breakfast with Us:
We understand that evening events don't suit everyone, so on the last Tuesday of the month we have an informal breakfast for busy members to touch base and share news. This is a great before work option. You will find us at the Sale Veterans Centre next to the Memorial Hall 88 MacAlister Street Sale from 7.30 am to 8.30 am. Meet outside the ‘Nakunbalook’ Centre next to SEED Community Garden
Join us for a walk around Lakes Guyatt and Guthridge on the last Sunday of the month to help us say NO to domestic and family violence in Wellington. We are currently the 6th worst Victorian municipality in terms of numbers of violent incidents, which are primarily against women. This is unacceptable and Rotary Sale is saying NO more. By raising public awareness, we hope to start conversations and help victims and survivors to feel supported. This is a walk that everyone can join in with -kids, all genders, walk your dog or push a pram. Chat with our friendly Rotarians and purchase one of our purple Say No t shirts and wear the message with pride. See you there.
Rotary Supports National Tree Day
Rotarians (and future Rotarians!) love to get their hands dirty with an environmental project and we have been supporting the revegetation and biodiversity project at Flooding Creek. Along with other members of the community, Rotarians recently helped to plant 1000 trees to help restore this corridor. Look out for us behind the BBQ on Saturday 3rd October 2026 at the planned Community Day. Enter via Back Maffra and Government Road.
The 2026 -2027 Rotary year is off at a great pace. As ‘people of action’, Rotarians are responsive to local and international areas of need. At our first meeting for the year the club was pleased to present Peter Cursley, Chairman of the Newborn Intensive Care Foundation, with the sum of $5,000. This money will directly support the purchase of equipment for maternal and newborn care at our own local hospital - Central Gippsland Health which services Sale and surrounds.
We welcome our first corporate members - Truecare Physiotherapy Sale. We recently inducted primary member Krishna at a dinner attended by most of the TrueCare team, including owner Mouli, who spoke about the two- way opportunities that are created when business and Rotary work together for the good of the community. We are pleased to have already seen the benefit of this partnership with their attendance at a recent Bunnings BBQ and look forward to welcoming them to the world of Rotary.

We celebrated International Women's Day 2026 with a dinner featuring Professor Renea Taylor as the keynote speaker. Renea grew up in Sale and is a cancer biologist holding a Professorship at Monash University with a joint appointment at Peter McCallum Cancer Centre. Renea is a world renown researcher into prostate cancer. In line with the 2026 theme ‘Balancing the Scales’ Renea spoke about her passion for ensuring that rural cancer patients receive equal care.

Delicious food and great company were enjoyed by a large group of Rotarians and other community members. Now in its sixth year, the IWD event is becoming as must do event on Sale's calendar.
Visitors and locals entering Sale can clearly see on our new signage boards that domestic and family violence is not acceptable here.
Rotarians light up the night in our purple Say NO shirts at the recent Wellington Candlelight Vigil for family violence victims and survivors.
The Rotary Ice Cream Van can be found out and about promoting our club whilst serving tasty treats and fundraising for our vital programs. The van is the result of lots of restoration work done by two Rotarians and can be found at the Maffra Mardi Gras and Christmas Festival. Come along and support us.
We are a fun and relaxed club with a focus on volunteering, connection and community for people of all ages. We have less focus on tradition and more on ‘doing what you can, when you can’.
